Islands attractions
It boasts of having over 90 stretches of sand where much of it glitters like golden grains and not the same black sand that is often found on other Canary Islands. It is these stunning sandy beaches that have created this tiny Canary Island to be a popular French holiday destinations. This stunning island can attract about one.5 million tourists yearly. The main resorts also have artificial beaches, using sand from the Sahara but there is still an abundance of natural playas that make a wonderful exploration for any beach lover.
Northern beach
There’s lots of fascinating things to do at Lanzarote. Even the locals are torn between north island attraction Famara and south island attraction Papagayo. Famara is more picturesque in its natural setting at the North West Coast of the island. There, you will feel the sea breeze from the Atlantic and Trade Winds. Because of that factor, the beach becomes very popular with wind surfers as well as kite surfers. Famara is giant, measuring 8km with the majestic Famara massif at finish. This is the range of cliffs that stood high at 460metres. It is laid with a great expanse of sand that forms the giant bay. You will also enjoy the view of La Garciosa, another tiny island that is a tiny further out at sea. This is a well-liked beach that is frequented by the locals, in the summertime. But the best time to visit this beach is either September or October; that is because the Trade Winds would not be blowing strong and you can enjoy a more pleasant walk and time then.
Papagayo means Parrot in Spanish; it is sited at the south of Lanzarote which is more sheltered. It is close to the famous Playa Blanca resort which is open to tourists all year round. The beaches here are different from those at Famara; the beaches are categorized in to coves and bays. There’s various these here which give great views to Fuerteventura, which is a neighboring island.
